A Legend Born in Turbulent Times
Yunnan Black Tea (Dianhong) is a rising star among Chinese black teas, with an origin story defined by resilience. Born during a period of national upheaval, its creation embodies the spirit of "heroes emerging from chaotic times." Crafted from ancient tea tree lineages in western Yunnan, this tea captures the soul of a thousand-year-old tea heritage. Every sip is a taste of history, strength, and timeless elegance.

Dry Leaves: Dark, glossy brownish-black leaves, tightly twisted and slender.

Tea Liquor: A brilliant, clear, and vibrant orange-red hue—a true reflection of "China Red."

Infused Leaves: Deep red, tender, and soft to the touch

1. Gongfu Style (Best for savoring the rich layers)

This traditional method uses a Gaiwan or a small teapot to experience how the flavor evolves with each steep.

  • Tea Amount: Use 3–5g of tea leaves (enough to lightly cover the bottom of your Gaiwan).
  • Water Temperature: 90°C to 95°C (194°F - 203°F). Let boiling water sit for about a minute before pouring, as water that is too hot can scald the delicate golden buds.
  • Steeping Time: * 1st to 3rd Steep: Pour water in and pour the tea out quickly, letting it infuse for just 5–10 seconds.Subsequent Steeps: Increase the time by 5–10 seconds for each following brew (e.g., 15s, 20s) to keep the flavor consistent.
  • Infusions: High-quality Dianhong can easily be re-steeped 6–8 times.

2. Convenient Style (Simple for daily drinking)

Ideal for a quick brew at the office or home using a regular mug or large teapot.

  • Tea Amount: Use 2–3g of loose leaves.
  • Water Volume: Pair with 250–300ml of water.
  • Water Temperature: Around 95°C (203°F).
  • Steeping Time: Let it sit for 2–3 minutes. It is best to separate the leaves from the tea liquid after steeping to prevent it from becoming bitter. This method can be re-steeped 2–3 times.

Pro-Tips for Brewing:

  • Pouring Technique: Pour the water gently along the inner wall of the vessel rather than crashing it directly onto the leaves. This keeps the tea liquor clear and the taste smooth.
  • Color Check: When the tea turns a brilliant, clear orange-red, it has reached its peak flavor and is ready to enjoy.
  • Net Weight: 60g (2.12oz)
  • Tea Form: Loose Leaf
  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place, away from light and strong odors
