Osmanthus & Bi Luo Chun Green Tea

About This Tea

A distinctive floral tea that blends Eastern cultural charm with the fresh, mellow essence of high-mountain tea. Crafted from tender Biluochun green tea buds sourced from Dongting Lake regions, it incorporates premium golden osmanthus picked during the peak bloom in the eighth lunar month in Guilin, Guangxi (whose name means "Osmanthus Forest"). As steam rises, the rich fragrance of osmanthus intertwines perfectly with the fruity, floral notes of the green tea. Revered in Chinese culture as "fragrance of 9 li's," osmanthus is exceptionally precious—ideal not only for moon gazing and pairing with mooncakes during the Mid-Autumn Festival, but also for adding an elegant, soothing touch of Eastern tea ritual to everyday life.

Why Osmanthus is Special

• Hand-picked: The flowers are tiny and delicate, requiring gentle tapping with bamboo sticks or pure hand-picking, resulting in extremely low yields.
• Rapid freshness preservation: The aroma volatilizes quickly after picking, so it must be immediately stabilized using traditional saltwater preservation, making the process intricate and labor-intensive.

Effects

• Rich in tea polyphenols and antioxidants, green tea helps slow down aging, protects oral health, freshens breath, and provides a gentle energy boost.
• Osmanthus has traditional properties that warm the lungs, resolve phlegm, and relieve cold-related pain, helping to ease the respiratory system and clear mild throat irritation.
• Aids the body in metabolism and detoxification, promotes healthy skin, and helps calm anxiety.

How to enjoy

Water Temperature Control (Key): Recommended to brew with water at 180°F. Avoid using boiling water above 180°F to prevent the green tea base from turning bitter.

Brewing and Pairing Suggestions:

• Festive Food Pairings: Pairs well with mooncakes, fruit salads, pastries, and other light desserts to cut through richness and enhance aroma.
• Creative Sparkling Tea: Cold-brew osmanthus green tea, then add sparkling water, and a spoonful of honey for a refreshing summer drink.
• Specialty Salted Cheese Foam: Brew with ice and top with salted cheese foam for a rich, creamy, and sweet-salty texture.
• Creative Culinary Use: Can be used directly as an aromatic spice in cooking, such as steaming pork ribs.

Aroma: Rich and sweet osmanthus fragrance, with distinct ripe apricot and peach-like fresh fruity notes.

• Top Notes: Refreshing floral-fruity aroma of green tea, crisp and invigorating.
• Mid Notes: Elegant and rich golden osmanthus floral scent naturally intertwined with honey-like sweetness.
